NAFTA : Highway To Hell?

My comments on this news:

Pretending that the Security and Prosperity Partnership [SPP] is different from the North American Union [NAU], the major media imply that Ron Paul and his supporters are conspiracy nuts.  The Newsweek article copied below even sports a misleading headline: It conflates NAFTA with the NAU. Nevertheless, the article describes the SPP rather thoroughly, close to admitting that the NAU scheme is real.
 
An article by Jerome Corsi  www.humanevents.com/article.php?id=14965  links to a Council on Foreign Relations [CFR] note signed by representatives of the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Robert A. Pastor is a signer  for the CFR and also the principal author of various SPP/NAU policy pieces. See copy of the CFR note below and look up Pastor!  
 
Elected officials and bureaucrats starting at the top with President Bush, successive Mexican presidents, and Canadian leaders began planning along the lines laid out by Robert Pastor and the Council on Foreign Relations nearly three years ago at Bush's ranch in Waco, Texas. Maps of the proposed NAU/SPP road and railroad network are widely available. Denial that the NAU/ SPP exists helps the project slip ahead. Among those looking to profit is presidential candidate Rudy Giuliani, whose law firm represents Cintra-Zachry, the Spanish-Texan consortium that expects to build and operate the Trans-Texas toll road.
 
Adding to outrage at the huge land takings needed for the projected highway network is that rail and truck traffic will enter the United States without inspection until reaching a Kansas City port of entry. Moreover, this customs facility will be operated by Mexico..... in Kansas City!
 
The Canadian public also opposes the NAU/SPP.  Disregard for majority public opinion makes a mockery of democracy, a travesty that the leaders of three North American countries seem prepared to commit.                               www.vivelecanada.ca/staticpages/index.php/20060830133702539
