For Whom the Bell Tolls

My comments on this news:

Pat Buchanan reviews election results and implications for Republicans and Democrats. The vote in Maine deserves rather more attention than it receives. It was about language, a key underpinning of culture.

The vote in Maine was framed as a political issue but focused on language and thus about culture. It was an argument about a single word, "marriage."

According to those pushing “gay marriage,” the vote was about securing equal rights for homosexuals. That interpretation is wrong, however, because the civil and legal rights and privileges associated with marriage could become available to homosexuals through creation of a legally-accepted contractual category.

The fight is about the word “marriage” itself, rather than about the legal rights that pertain to marriage.  The “politically correct” cultural Marxist agenda is to eliminate the specific man-woman criterion from the word "marriage." In other words, it is an effort to undermine the procreative family.

The good people of Maine and every other State that overturn the agenda foisted on us by cultural Marxist activists are fighting the good fight. Buchanan rightly celebrates that a cultural Marxist RINO, DeDe Scozzafava, has exited the GOP.  Good. Let her join RINO Senator Arlen Specter who also road out of town not a moment too soon.

I shall not rest easily, however, until the Trotskyites, commonly known as NEOcons and who brought us wars in Iraq and Afghnistan undertaken on behalf of Israel [but using first terrorism and then oil as cover] also retreat to where they belong. How about a dank, underground cave?        V.
